Antivia announces launch of Antivia Desktop and scenario for BusinessObjects

Sydney, Australia & Orlando, US - 15th October, 2007

Antivia Pty Limited, an innovator in information-centric hierarchy management and Business Intelligence 2.0 (BI 2.0) software solutions, today announced the launch of its flagship products, Antivia Desktop and Scenario for BusinessObjects.

"Today is a very important day in the relatively short history of Antivia" said Mark Sands, CEO and co-founder, Antivia. "The launch of Antivia Desktop and Scenario for BusinessObjects represents a significant milestone for us but this announcement also carries significance for the broader market."

"The incredibly exciting news last week of SAP's intention to acquire Business Objects is further testament to the increasing importance of Business Intelligence in today's rapidly changing world" said Sands. "Vendors such as SAP/Business Objects will continue to be major forces in the market. However, as the world continues to experience the revolutionising effect of the next generation web, innovative vendors such as Antivia will play an increasingly important role in the spread and adoption of BI 2.0 tools, techniques and solutions."

Antivia Desktop is the framework upon which Antivia's range of BI 2.0 solutions is delivered. Designed to take full advantage of an organisation's existing Business Intelligence investment, Antivia Desktop delivers a range of capabilities focused on enabling users to bring the power, flexibility and freedom of the next generation web to the Business Intelligence environment of today. Key elements of Antivia Desktop include:

  • Community Forums
  • Rate my reports
  • What's hot, what's not
  • Community Polls

Working within this BI 2.0 framework, Scenario for BusinessObjects utilizes the power of the market leading BI platform, BusinessObjects XI, and allows users to:

  • Manage the information hierarchies within their BusinessObjects reports
  • Manipulate hierarchies and instantly see changes on reports
  • Save hierarchies and re-apply them at any time to newer versions of documents
  • Share hierarchy ideas with other users in their community

"We are delighted to be able to announce the availability of Antivia Desktop and Scenario for BusinessObjects " said Mark Hudson, Creative Director and co-founder, Antivia. "The Web 2.0 experience has shown the world the benefits of concepts such as social networking, collaboration, user self service and harnessing of collective intelligence. Our philosophy and approach has shaped the vision for a suite of innovative solutions that deliver these concepts in a business and commercial context."

"Too many software companies are jumping on the Web/BI 2.0 bandwagon in a cynical attempt to position themselves away from the crowd" said Hudson. "At Antivia we are not afraid to be different. However, we recognise that the business application of these powerful concepts is worthless if it fails to take account of an organisation's existing Business Intelligence investment. That is why we have chosen to build our solutions in conjunction with the market leading Business Intelligence platform ? BusinessObjects XI."

The initial release of Antivia Desktop and Scenario for BusinessObjects is available in English language only and can be purchased through our global network of resellers.

About Antivia

Antivia was founded in 2007 by a team of like-minded individuals who, between them have amassed considerable experience in the Business Intelligence industry. That experience has taught us that Business Intelligence has an increasingly important and valuable role to play in today's information hungry world. But what of tomorrow?

Organisations all over the world have seen the value that the successful adoption of Business Intelligence tools and techniques can bring them. They have invested significant amounts of time, effort and money to achieve this. But have they realised the full potential of these investments?

At Antivia we subscribe to the view that the ideas and concepts realized through the advent of Web 2.0 are transforming the way in which the world expects to access and use information. We believe this expectation needs to be considered at the heart of Business Intelligence solutions in the future and we see the concept of Business Intelligence 2.0 (BI 2.0) evolving in parallel with the Web 2.0 wave to address this.

Successful Web 2.0 companies and applications are utilizing the power of existing technologies to deliver content and capability to a community of collaborative users in ever more interesting and intuitive ways. Antivia's vision is to realize these concepts in the communities we serve, to the benefit of our customers, our business partners and our employees.

We are actively bringing together a community of individuals and organizations to help us make this vision a reality. The BI 2.0 solutions that we offer currently and that we will continue to deliver and evolve are an important aspect of our strategy to achieve this. However, this alone is not enough. We encourage you to participate in this endeavour, be it through our blogs, our online community or in association with one of our business partners around the world. In this way we can all share in the responsibility for redefining Business Intelligence.
